All the dainty soft hands, sitting in their space ships of opulence, say to get out of survival mode. But, People have to eat....

No, the soft hands know that the majority does not suffer on Earth. It's the minority who does, which IS the majority. They just aren't found in 1st World Countries. 

So, while the Galactic Politics plays out, we will forge our own path.

I wonder why soft hands like playing games with the People of the surface, when there is already enough games being played on the surface by surface dwellers, as it is. Do the soft hands and the surface game players, do they have a connection, or is that simply coincidence, when there is no such thing as coincidence? 

Everything external is part of 'their' game.
